Change Text of Start button

Customize your windows and change the text in your start button as you like,,

First thing make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe and save this back up where ever it will be safe in ur hard drive.

Now download this software which is freeware and unrar it...

Open this software and open browse till C:\Windows\explorer.exe

the windows which will appear will look like this..



Now expand....

If you are using the Classic Layout than use number 38. We’re going to modify item 578 on right hand side, currently showing the word “start” just as it displays on the current Start button.


The screen will look like this, and you will find "start" in double quotes and now just type your name in it to modify the name... I had written Pimp it inside double quoutes....
When you will write pimp it the button compile script will enable and press it to compile.

After Compiling Script save the altered file using the Save As command on the File Menu. Do not use the Save command – Make sure to use the Save As command and choose a name for the file and save the newly named file to C:\Windows.
In this example i had saved pimpit.exe file in C:\Windows


Now we will modify the registry ...so go to start>run>type regedit

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In the right pane of this registry window you will see a string name shell double click to open it....

and in the field of value data type the name pimpit.exe file which we had saved in c:\windows

press ok and modify the explorer.exe file into pimpit.exe file.

THERE YOU HAVE IT, JUST RESTART YOUR PC AND YOU WILL SEE WORD PIMP IT IN BUTTION, IF YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING CORRECTLY...
